I really like this place a lot. If I'm going to pay ~$8 for a sandwich I want it to be something I wouldn't make at home and Even Stevens has so many original options! My favorite is the Do Gouda - the sweet onion marmalade is so yummy. The capreezy is also fabulous with their housemade pesto and the pot roast dip with jalapeño jelly is great too. Turkey day is good, just not amazing like the other ones. I love that all their sandwiches are served with a good side salad-I appreciate when options other than chips are given. I've also tried the mac and cheese which is warm, yummy, and filling as mac and cheese should be. They put bacon in it and there was some crispy cheese at the bottom of my bowl-so good. Their cookies are amazing (and I get particular about cookies). I believe they're from a bakery called Cravings but I haven't discovered their location yet. On top of having delicious food, I do appreciate that they give a lot back to their community, which is the cherry on top for frequenting Even Stevens.

Even Stevens is a cute breakfast and lunch shop close to downtown. They have a fun mural and funky furniture inside. There are a few outdoor tables next to the parking lot. Keep in mind you'll be sitting next to the parking lot of a 7-11 though...nice to be outside but probably not the nicest scenery. My dining partner and I shared the graduate breakfast burrito and the sausage egg sandwich. The burrito had an amazing smokey sauce and a perfect chewy tortilla. The egg sandwich was simple with excellent ciabatta and a great sauce to tie everything together. The potatoes were not greasy and seasoned well! We had friendly service with a gentlemen with a great el bandito (or maybe it was french style?) mustache. Overall it's a great quick breakfast spot!

Let's get the negatives out of the way first and end on a positive. Disappointments: My first time here and I ordered a half baked mahi mahi, Caesar salad with a side of balsamic vinaigrette, and the free check in cookie. My boyfriend ordered the undergrad breakfast burrito with sausage. The food comes out and I got the side salad instead of the Caesar salad. I informed the food runner of my food order and he told me that the baked mahi mahi is the only sandwich that you cannot do the 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich combo. He apologized and said that the cashier didn't know. They forgot the side of balsamic vinaigrette and the cookie but the food runner brought it out promptly after I reminded him. The undergrad burrito had bacon in it instead of sausage but we didn't want to say anything else at this point. The baked mahi mahi for me was so so. The thick baguette was really dry, the mahi mahi was bland, and the cole slaw by itself was good. The sandwich as a whole did not work for me. Pros: The place itself had plenty of seating inside and a couple of tables outside. My boyfriend loved his burrito even though it wasn't sausage. I had a bite and enjoyed the crispy tortilla wrap! I really admire the concept behind this place because of their efforts in collaboration and community building. I definitely will come back to try another sandwich!

This is my new hands-down go-to sandwich place even though I have only eaten here once. The food is superb and the cause is absolutely mind-boggling. They give away a sandwich for every one they sell. Ordering is cafeteria style with table delivery when the sandwiches are finished. Service is by hipsters who are in great moods and easy to talk to. I ordered the Morrisey which is vegan and it was out of this world. Protein whey is added to cubed potatoes, spinach, green beans, fava beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and a special dipping sauce. Mine was a breakfast item and was actually very thin pliable wrap which made it light and when it was put into the Ovention, it came out very slightly crispy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a fast, healthy, economical, friendly place to eat where you are upholding the Golden Rule!

Just when you thought you've eaten at the best sandwich shop, then you eat here!! I've been going to the same sandwich shop for years because others have fallen short. Once a month my best friend and I meet for lunch at our same spot. I was just informed about this place after an interview downtown, and was told it's the best, and they have beer!! Big plus!! I'm amazed at the Sprang Chicken sando, WOW!! is all I can say... Amazing!! Great service, friendly, and delicious. Just on the edge of downtown SLC, decent parking and plenty of seating. I subtracted one start for the couple flies I saw inside. Never been a fan of that in any establishment. I'll be suggesting this place to my best friend for our next lunch outing...

I've been to Even Stevens at least half a dozen times now, and it has yet to disappoint. Some of my 'go-tos' are the Pot Roast Dip sandwich and Goat Getter Salad. Both are exceptional. I recently had their Graduate Breakfast Burrito and that was also came out fresh and hit the spot. The staff is always friendly. I love the vibe, look, the floppy disks, and overall feel of the establishment. It's a great place to grab a quick bite for lunch, meet up with a group of friends, or even do some work as I often have (it can get noisy during lunch time). My only gripe is that the garlic bread that comes with the salads can be a bit on the heavy and greasy side, but that's not enough for me to not give this place a 5-star rating. Draper will be getting a treat when Even Stevens opens up down there, hopefully it'll be just as good.

Great gluten free options. Loved the music on Sunday. Friendly and helpful staff. This is an awesome place with a wonderful mission. Such a gem for salt lake, which is filled with mostly chain fast food.

  • Ivy D.

Finding a Good Gluten Free Sandwich place in Utah is nearly impossible. Well look no further this place is Amazing. I love the cause, and it helps that the food is absolutely delicious. The Gluten free bread was soft and same consistency of regular bread. I had to have this place twice while I was in Salt lake. The first time I had the JP Grilled Cheese, that one was my favorite. The second time I had the Capreezy, that was pretty okay , That hazelnut pesto tho, Yum!.

Only a hateful asshole who despises deliciousness and charity could dislike this place. Vegan options, free cookies with Yelp check-in, great staff, scrumptious food, and local suppliers make this one of the top dining experiences in Salt Lake.

  • Lindsey R.

I thought I'd found all the good sandwich shops in salt lake, but Even Stevens showed me! They have options for everyone! They have awesome sandwiches, salads, and you can have a beer with your meal! I will definitely be back to try more! We had the reubin and the roast dip. Both were hearty and well prepared.

Noting like this place in my opinion. Very different from many of the places my family and I try. We went there two days in a row. We got the Caprezzy, Party (Fiesta?) Tots and a Chicken Sandwich. The ingredients are high quality, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cool. Glad we found this place so we can add it into the rotation. As a side note the establishment appears to be socially and environmentally friendly which is very important to me and makes me feel good about spending my money there.

If there is a place that you can visit throughout the day that is not a diner and still find something for the good to eat, then Even Stevens is your place. They are relatively close to downtown area, but not close enough to have bad parking, so they actually have a lot and enough spaces out front. I really like their retro décor and the use of old floppy disk for ordering tag. For breakfast, I had their Breakfast Burrito, and it was one of the best I ever had in town. It had a nice balance in all the fillings with great flavor. For sandwich, they have a few choices, and all of them sounded very good. Sloppy Joe was a nice classic, but Do Gouda was not bad either. I really like the nicely grilled sourdough on their sandwiches. I tried their Tomato Basil soup, and it was decent. If Even Stevens was able to please one of my picky eater companions, then they are surely doing something right. The staffs were very friendly here. I would come here more often if they are closer, and I do look forward to their future locations in the south valley.

Very delicious sandwiches! I ordered a grilled cheese and added chicken. It's not your normal grilled cheese though. 4 cheeses were included and the spice was definitely kicked up. I enjoyed it. My fiancé ordered a breakfast burrito which was amazing. The potatoes were the perfect size and the salsa was amazing. We found the portions to be a little small for the price however (-1 star). Easy parking and fun decorations. This establishment also donates to charities that benefit the homeless. As I understood, Even Stevens goal is to partner with Salt Lake organizations and give back to the community. They really seem to value local growth, which is amazing!

  • Tina S.

We have been on a kick to try new places that are not chain restaurants. This place has its own really great spin on sandwiches, for every sandwich sold, they donate one to a non profit organization! Together hubby and I tried the JP grilled cheese, which was amazing! The flavor of the cheeses mixed with the garlic-y kick of the jalapenos. Hubby ordered the Turkey day. The wonderful turkey and cranberry mixed together had such great flavor. Half way through we decided to switch! Sadly, I read after eating that on Sundays they serve brunch with $3 Mimosa's and that they had stuffed french toast! I am sure we will be back and I will be ordering both of those! NOM! I would have given five stars, but they are a bit on the expensive side.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I love their sandwiches, they are so creative and delicious. I love their cause and what they stand for, considering they are local helping local. Its great. The place is cool. Definitely put a pretty penny for it, and they serve beers. All proud local breweries. Great new spot in SLC. I think ti could quickly become a staple in SLC.

  • Nandini C.

The food is delicious. I like the 'Graduate Burrito' best. It is on the breakfast menu, but available all-day-long. It's delicious and filling. I really liked the veggie sandwich option - 'Hummazing Vegan'. The staff are courteous and helpful. Loved the quirky touch in creating the table number holders out of old 3.5" floppy disks.

  • Emad S.

"Eat to Give" a great concept and great sandwiches, the idea is food is donated for each sandwich sold. We tried the Jalapeno Grilled Cheese and the Pot Roast Dip, both were very tasty, the side was a choice of chips or salad, we took the salad and that was also good, also ordered the hummus appetizer, the pita bread that came with it was really good, as for the hummus, well I make my own hummus at home from scratch and nothing in SLC compares to that ;) Overall very good food, good service and a great concept. Tip: if you do a Yelp check-in you get a free cookie.

  • Michael B.

Nice environment, great business model, and delish sandwiches. I ordered the do gouda and it was fab! A little light on the meat portion, but other than that nothing to complain about. Next time I'll try breakfast, which is served all day.

  • Sarah L.

This place was a happy surprise find. The sandwiches are fantastic and I love the concept of them donating a sandwich every time you order one. I believe we need more places like this in our city. They're such a great vibe here and it's fun to go Sunday mornings and get their stuffed French toast and listen to live music.

This isn't subway. If you like that kind of sandwich, go elsewhere. These sandwiches are made on good bread, have amazing ingredients and interesting mixes of flavors. My mouth is happy!!

Don't you just hate it when this happens when looking up at the menu board... Me: "What's good here?" Them: "Everything." Yeah, not so helpful. Unfortunately that is the reality with Even Stevens, just about everything I have had has been EXCELLENT! Picking your favorite sandwich there is like picking your favorite kid. Sure you love them all very much but there are a couple of favorites. For me, it's the sloppy Joe (or sloppy Tina for you vegetarians) It's a very nostalgic food for me. It's how school lunch sloppy joe should have been. Good amount of chorizo infused meat to bun ratio that makes it sloppy but not unwieldy. If the sloppy Joe brings flashbacks of being stuffed in your locker then perhaps you better stuff yourself with the Turkey Day. It's like Thanksgiving in a sandwich but with some Jalapeño jelly thrown in for that extra something. If school was way too horrible and Saturday morning cartoons is your happy place, check out their breakfast items. They're very good and filling. Available during the weekday as well til 11am. Weekend brunch is where it's at though, available all day and on Sundays, it's unlimited french toast, but not the filled version. I can't wait to see what's next, like cereal encrusted french toast. Perhaps expanding their side options. Whatever it is, it'll be good and for a good cause.

WHY does it take me FOREVER to try out new places that I end up falling in love with?? I knew Even Stevens existed since they opened. I had heard about their good sandwiches and the business model to give back with every sandwich bought. I even had friends who've been there before, but I never thought to give it a try until today. Until I was mildly hungry, eager to get out of the house, and didn't want to compromise with wifi. Enter: Even Stevens The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. I had no idea what I wanted, and the guy making sandwiches walked me through the menu, what was most popular, and his personal favorites. Even though I'm a carnivore, I opted for the JP grilled cheese: beehive cheddar with garlic roasted jalapeños. Amaaaaaazing. It's pretty heavy on the garlic, but that's how i like it. My only complaint is that I got the "meal deal" which is 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup (tomato basil of course).... which meant I only got half of a sandwich and immediately regretted not getting a whole one after i took the first bite. For $10, I got 1/2 sandwich, soup, chips, pickle (GREAT pickle btw), and a drink. Not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. Especially when you also factor in their give back business model. (SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY) I'm a fan. I'll be back.... for the grilled cheese of course. Oh, and serious thanks for being open on Sundays.

I was skeptical about their location next to 7-11, but was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Nice atmosphere, fast & friendly, and great food! My group started off with some "Party Tots" -- these were terrifically topped with cheese, bacon, avocado and jalapeño peppers. I had a hard time deciding between the roast pork, roast beef, and a old-fashioned Reuben sandwich. The Reuben was perfectly layered with corned beef brisket, sauerkraut, and swiss, perfectly toasted on rye. Pricing is between $8-$9. This is among the best sandwich shops in Salt Lake.

Jelly. Jelly everywhere. I ordered the jalapeño popper sandwich because all the other sandwiches I wanted to try had some sort of marmalade/jelly sauce and I'm not a fan of sweet sauces on savory sandwiches. It was oozing with melted cheese, the bread was crisp, and it wasn't too spicy. Great. My husband ordered the pot roast dip. And he was so eager to try it that he was practically jumping in his seat. When he took his first bite his face dimmed a little and by the second and third bite I could tell he was disgusted. That was when he spit it out. Apparently, the jalapeño jelly they generously spread on is cloyingly sweet and the meat tasted like a microwaveable TV dinner that was slow cooked for hours. I had a bite and all I will say is, I wouldn't serve that to someone who paid for it or to someone in need.

This place was amazing! Great, chill atmosphere. We came in on a Sunday morning for brunch, and although we were initially worried because it's next to a 7/11 in a kind of downscale looking parking lot, we walked inside and immediately loved it. The "grad student" breakfast burrito was delicious, and when I asked to have no bacon, they suggested I sub in avocado at no extra charge, which was a considerate touch. Sunday mornings feature small 3 dollar mimosas starting at 11:30. There's also free coffee with student ID, and we ended up spending a couple hours there, eating delicious smoothies and chatting. The live music and colorful atmosphere was super chill. Also, really reasonable prices for a place that donates a free sandwich for every one they sell.

I decided to try Even Stevens for dinner and was not disappointed. It was delicious and affordable with a great, friendly staff. I had the jalapeño grilled cheese with a tasty side salad and i will definitely need to come back soon.

Never though American food can be this good, no shy to the best of European or Asian food. Truly surprised plus a nice setup, even a ban.

  • Nate S.

Stevens' food is Even. Adequate, certainly. At no point is it particularly delicious, and at many points it is strange. They have beef in their arsenal, but you can only get a turkey french dip. A turkey french dip is a bit like turkey bourginon, or turkey short ribs, or a turkey burger. Also, Steven has a weird sweet glaze jelly marmalade fetish that shows up all over the menu. Even the "jalapeño jelly" is a cloying affair reminiscent of something your aunt would offer from a jar to go with her famous mutton. The menu has many options, the food is decent, and the ethics are good. Decide for your own palate. Mine knows that this is the 7th-best place in Salt Lake City to order a reuben.

  • Crystal B.

Oh my gosh. What a pleasant surprise. I stopped here for lunch because it was next door to my hair salon. All I can say is that if you like salads and sandwiches you have to eat here. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Ever! I tried the Turkey Day, expecting a subway type sandwich, but what got was a mouth full of heavenly goodness. Toasted bread, jalapeno cranberry spread, slow roasted tomato spread, cucumbers, turkey, greens, and melted cheese. Served with a little side salt with delicious vinegarette. I will be craving this for a long while. Can't wait to come back here and try everything on the menu. It wasn't until I got home that I discovered this establishment has a very good cause worth supporting. For every sandwich purchased, sandwich ingredients are donated to local charities who feed those in need. Even Stevens, I salute you. I will be eating here often to help end hunger.

Quick, good, and casual. If you don't like what is on the menu, they will do custom sandwiches, which was great for my very picky kid.

Fantastic food. 1. It's local 2. It's for a good cause. They donate a sandwich for every sandwich they sell. 3. The prices are good. 4. Their sandwiches are soooo good. I got the Mihami vice. It has slow cooked pork and it is super awesome. 5.there cookies are good too. Totally worth the free Yelp offer. Go there!

Quick service, yummy sandwiches, fun music, and beers available. Ambiance is lively and relaxing, plus the admirable business philosophy and the easy opportunity to participate make this one of the BEST Salt Lake eateries around.

I love this place. Sprang chicken sandwich.....scrumptious. Homemade chips. Wow! I usually go on Sundays...live music. AND they donate one sandwich for each sandwich sold to local non-profits. Awesome....thank you for all you do!

    (5)
  • Anna A.

My favorite place to get a sandwich as of late. Everything I've tried is top notch. My favorite hands down is the Sprang Chicken: chicken, bacon, avocado, tomato, provolone and honey mustard - Whaaa?! Seriously amazing flavors going on in that sandwich! I would have to agree that the service is kind of slow. I realize these aren't Jimmy Johns/Subway sandwiches - but I once had a 20 minute wait and it was even at a slow hour of the day. So usually I just call in my order and pick it up. Works out great. I'm still a happy customer. Thanks, guys!

  • Tawnee W.

Even Stevens Sandwiches kept popping up on different articles about how they were a Top 10 sandwich spot in SLC, so of course I had to try it. My husband and I split the Sprang Chicken and Pot Roast Dip which were both delicious. They came with delicious plain chips and a pickle (I'm a sucker for pickles). My favorite was the pot roast dip... mmm.... The sourdough bread was perfect and the au ju was flavorful. The location had a nice vibe and service was great. My only complaint was that it did seem pricey for what I got - 2 sandwiches and a drink was $20, but that is fairly typical for Downtown SLC. Plus you're supporting a good cause as they give back to the community! We need more places that invest in our communities!

  • Carlee S.

So damn good. The staff was awesome and funny. They joked around with us and were very sweet. The coffee is AMAZING and the staff was kind enough to look up where the beans came from and told me where to get some. The Decor was cool and trendy with a modern grunge feel. The food was great as well. I ordered the caprese sandwhich and my vegan friend order the Hummus sandwhich which i believe was called the Hum-azing sandwhich. Both were fresh and delicious. I will abosolutely go back.

    (5)
  • Felix B.

They have pretty good sandwiches, but unfortunately they do not have a very large selection. Also, their sandwiches are a bit pricey for how big they are. The great aspect of this place is the atmosphere and the friendly staff. This is definitely a place you can come hang out with friends, and they even have live music some nights. At the very least, they give free coffee to students--can't say no to that.

I am guessing that most of what could be said about this place has been said. One review noted a "hipster" vibe, but I would disagree. I didn't get that whole, "hey, look at me. I'm even more interesting on the inside. Sure my brain isn't getting enough oxygen because my shirt's top button is strangling me, but it draws the eyes to my asymmetrical mustache. Ask me if I know where the next G7 economic summit is being held or how a fixed gear bike is the only "real" bike, or.... (sorry, my internal dialogue goes on tangential rants and my fingers must obey). Back to Even Stevens. The Do Gouda was a splendid combination of good flavors in the right porportions. Side salad worked well and the Tom Basil Bisque was hearty the way I like it. This location had an urban loft feel to it without trying too hard (see hipster rant above) The "business as responsible citizen" notion plays well and, of course, should be the rule and not the exception. Eat here.

    (4)
  • Taylor C.

The menu here isn't super extensive for sandwiches, however the grilled cheese with jalapeños is on point and the cookies are to die for. I also love that for every sandwich purchased, a sandwich is donated to a local shelter. In addition they sometimes play live music and have an awesome urban, holistic, vibe going on. I would recommend trying Even Stevens for lunch with some friends!

  • Ahmad K.

Got the mahi mahi sandwich. It was made of 4 things -bread, mahi, coleslaw and seasoning. It all went really well together Everything is made fresh and they donate a sandwich for every sandwich that you purchase - theyve donated over 50,000 sandwiches, which is pretty cool This is def a lunch spot or casual dinner spot

  • T.J. S.

Very cool place with a bit of a hipster vibe, and a huge heart. For every sandwich they sell, they give one to charity. AWESOME... The wife and I tried this place for the first time over the weekend. She ordered the JP Grilled Cheese, and I had the Turkey Day. We switched half way through (I know I guess we are one of those couples), just to try the others sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by both. The free cookie was also a nice touch. To sum it up... NOM, and we will be back!

  • Kyle K.

Wow. It's hard for my work colleagues to agree on a place for lunch. Some look only to value -- can you fill up for less than $10? Some look only to taste. Others won't eat anything more adventurous than Olive Garden's Neverending Pasta Bowl. But I took them to Even Stevens, and no one left disappointed. The sandwiches are delicious and inventive, made with good ingredients, and, of course, equate to another sandwich being made at one of the charities chosen by the owners. Plenty of vegetarian options, too. (And delicious ones, that, you know, I'd be willing to try.) There's a great selection of fountain sodas. Oh, and did I mention that they have local beer (and suggested beer pairings for each of their sandwiches)? The ambiance is nice, and the hand drawn art on the walls adds a bit of local flare to a place in a strip mall that looks like it's just been a tad over-branded. Maybe everything is $1 overpriced, but when you consider that your sandwich is also a contribution to another sandwich for the homeless / victims of domestic violence / others in need (depending on the charities featured that month), that seems like a small price to pay. The staff is super friendly while making sandwiches and checking up on diners after they've received their food. Why the four stars? Funny story. So I've been wanting to try their breakfast options, which sound awesome. A few weeks ago, I went out for a long run (training for a race), but I knew that I'd really have to book it to make it to Even Stevens by 11:00 a.m. to get a breakfast sandwich. Well, I didn't run fast enough, and got in the door at about 11:08. I asked if they were still serving breakfast, and the answer was "no." Seriously? I ran 10 miles and you're going to give me the McDonald's treatment? (They serve brunch until 3:00 on Sunday, so it can't be that much of a hassle, can it?) Then, of course, I asked for a beer and an appetizer and was told no again, because Utah does not allow restaurants to serve alcohol before 11:30. If that's the case, keep serving breakfast! So there I was, panting, sweating, hungry and parched, and I just got no love. I asked for a glass for water, and they said sure, but didn't give me the glass. :-(. Yes, that's my pity party. Yes, they didn't do anything particularly out of the ordinary. But as awesome as the place had been up to that point, I was just a little let down that they were inflexible and fairly unsympathetic. Unrealistic expectations? Probably. Would that stop me from going to Even Stevens again for lunch, or trying their Sunday Brunch (cheap mimosas and unlimited french toast?) Nope. But next time, I'll most definitely drive there.

Excellent, hip and best of all delicious! Our table had a capreezy, Mac & cheese side and a funky turkey sandwich that was relish! The Turkey had a jalepeno-cranberry sauce with a tomato sauce. Weird as hell and tasty!! We'll definitely be back!

Probably the dopest sandwich shop in town. The do gouda is delicious, great vibe and your purchase donates a sandwich to a local non-profit. It may be a little more money than other sandwich shops but you'll see why when you come. Also, the staff is super helpful and friendly. Give it a shot!

So we went to Ruth's Diner on a Sunday around noon and the wait was over an hour. Knowing that Salt Lake has plenty of good sandwich/salad/brunch spots we consulted Yelp for a new dining experience. Even Stevens sounded great and has plenty of reliable positive reviews and I'm always down for a new great spot. Upon pulling up, the good vibes of live music, great decorations/art, a full patio and great layout I knew it'd be a good spot. After ordering our food, we were approached by the super friendly Mr Steven himself! He told us noobs about the concept of giving back to the community and thanked us for coming to his restaurant and even gave us a couple of fresh cookies while we waited for our food! Talk about going above and beyond! The food was better than expected, and overall this was a great experience. We'll definitely be coming back to such a great place!

I like the concept of this place, even if i feel guilty every time I order a salad and deny a free sandwich to someone that needs it. That being said...get the goat-getter salad with chicken. It's pretty basic, but I probably think about it once a week. They are generous with the cheese, which I appreciate always and forever. The french dip is awesome too, if you're being altruistic.

Even Stevens has quickly become one of my favorite places and a definite go-to spot for tasty, unique eats. Everything I've tried has exceeded my expectations, including the incredible pot roast dip sandwich and the tomato bisque soup (both new weaknesses of mine). Even the grilled cheese, which you might think has a certain ceiling -- I mean, it is just bread and cheese, right? -- gets a fresh, delicious treatment. The staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant is clean with interesting decor that reflects well their food and mission. The murals and other pieces from local artist Trent Call are an especially nice touch. I plan to be a regular patron of this fine establishment.

Quick update...the pot roast sandwich is amazing. Highly recommended. Solid place. It feels like a sandwich version of Spitz (i.e. fast casual restaurant that serves beer). If they could line up a good pork belly sandwich I'd be in heaven. Then of course there's the sandwich donation. It doesn't really influence my restaurant choice, but good for them. Would be great to see other businesses follow a similar model. Now for the part where I sound like a cynical asshole :) I'm curious about the details of their sandwich donation. This is from their site: "For every sandwich we sell, we'll donate a sandwich to a local non-profit. Even Stevens donates fresh ingredients for a sandwich. A non-profit receives the ingredients and distributes a sandwich to a person in need." If I get a capreezy sandwich, is there some dude in Pioneer Park enjoying the same capreezy sandwich the next day? Or is he having a piece of bologna between two slices of white bread? It doesn't really matter - a free lunch is a free lunch - just curious.

We stopped in and grabbed sandwiches to go. This was around 4 o'clock and there were only a few other customers. We ordered three Do Gouda sandwiches, the only unfortunate part of our order was that we didn't try anything else! Do Gouda was great. We didn't eat the sandwiches until an hour after we ordered them, again they were still perfect. The only thing to note about the restaurant, it was a Wednesday evening, and while I like live music, the music the night we stopped in was a little loud for our liking. I think the musician could have done with out speakers. Bottom line, sandwiches were awesome.

I loved the decor. They did a really nice job. Very cool place. I would hang out here just to take in the ambiance. But as for the food, I was disappointed, not so much in the taste, but in the portion size. I got the half special with the pastrami sandwich and the spinach salad. For a half-pint like myself, the portion was small and didn't fill me up, even for a half. I haven't seen a pastrami sandwich so minuscule before and though the salad was delicious, the meal just didn't satisfy my hunger. I appreciate what Even Stevens is doing for the community and their mission and purpose. I recognize that they are making an effort to use fresh and local ingredients for their unique and intriguing menu. Unfortunately, they fell short on my visit. For the price I paid, I didn't feel like I really got bang for my buck especially since I left hungry. I can appreciate their effort so I would try them again, but, with lower expectations.

I liked Even Stevens. There weren't a lot of other places open or that were that desirable in the area so we decided to stop in here one weeknight. I got the Capreezy which was good and a side of the tomato soup which was also good. The place was completely dead. Staff were friendly enough. I'd say everything was about average, but I left feeling generally pretty happy so I'd say that merits giving this place four stars. Not a bad option when I want to avoid Cafe Rio or the other awful places in the shoppping complexes on Fourth.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches. Just had one!! I've been here two days in a row for their yummy sandwiches. I have tried just the pot roast sandwich and I love it. I'm not a fan of the jalapeño jelly and ask them to leave it out. To be fair, I don't like jelly in general. Can't wait to try all their other sandwiches. They have an unlimited French toast brunch this Sunday (July 7th). Don't miss it!

My family and I ended up here on Sunday after unsuccessfully trying to go to The Wild Grape. I'd heard good things about Even Stevens, so I was excited to try it! Our group was pretty large, with 6 adults and 2 kids. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our first-timer questions about the menu. They got all of our orders in fast and got our food out in a good amount of time. I ordered the Graduate Burrito and it was pretty good. I think if I ordered it again I'd ask for light dressing and onions (there was a lot of onions!). Everyone else was very happy with their food, my boyfriend raved about the breakfast sandwich and my brother's friend cleaned his plate of stuffed french toast. My 2 year old nephew was jazzed about the side of nutella that comes with the french toast. Overall it was a great experience, maybe not my favorite breakfast, but I can't deny that it was good. I'll definitely be coming back for the mimosas sometime.

One of the best sandwich places in the city. Always good and service is great too. Everything is really good and fresh. If you haven't been do yourself a favor and check it out.

This is the location I'm going to go to on Sundays. On Sundays the Sugarhouse location is crazy packed and busy with the expected clientele, downtown is quiet and relaxed. The larger dining area (than Sugarhouse) is much more comfortable too, but the silver stools at the counter/window are very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. Only kids and little people have butts that small, but their legs are too short to get up on these stools. Sandwiches have been high quality every visit. Staff downtown very friendly and approachable, happy to discuss menu items and options. House salad-dressing not MY favorite, not something to complain about though. Wish I could have potato salad or another side substituted instead of chips or green salad, but that's a management/owner decision that needs to change (I'll pay extra if necessary, just let me order what I want!) If you like the Sugarhouse neighborhood stay/go there please, let me enjoy a Sunday sandwich in peace.

Fantastic food but man these guys can't get their shit together when it comes to speedy service. I totally don't expect them to be as fast as, say, McDonalds, but I've been here 4 times for breakfast and every time I wait at least 15 minutes for them to essentially just assemble a sandwich/burrito. Having worked many years in food service, I know quality of product only goes so far. The food here is fantastic, but the never-can-be-rushed, film school perennials seriously dampen the experience. I appreciate the attention to detail but it's a sandwich bro, not the Mona Lisa.

We had the pot roast dip, the beehive mac and a do Gouda--all of it was scrumptious followed by fast and friendly service!

Even Stevens makes great sandwiches, hires awesome musicians, serves local beer, and has an incredible sense of charity. The Mahi Mahi is tasty. Go here, eat and drink well, enjoy some music, and help out some worthy non-profit organizations.

It's a shame the customer service here was so poor as the JP Grilled Cheese was delicious. Since this was my first time here I spent some time looking up at the menu. All the while there were three guys standing behind the counter ignoring me. Well, not totally ignoring, I got eye contact out of two of them. After studying the menu for a couple minutes a girl came from the back and asked if she could help. As I said, I got the JP Grilled Cheese and it was definitely one of the better grilled cheese sandwiches that I've ever had. The jalapeños give it a great kick that you don't typically find in these sandwiches. Despite the good food I won't be coming back. No matter how good a place is, I still want to be treated well when I go there.

I went here because of another Yelper's recommend. I thought the food was pretty good for a sandwich shop. The restaurant was clean and the employees were nice. I was a little disappointed they didn't have ranch even though they sell salads. I do however like that they donate a sandwich for every sandwich sold. I will be back!

Had a little bit of a wait but it was worth it! While we waited I checked out the local artist's artwork that was up and noticed one of the artists went to my high school! So cool! Evens Stevens gives a sandwich for every sandwich you purchase to the needy-this made me want to buy every sandwich off the menu! I ordered the roast beef dip sandwich with jalapeño jelly on sourdough bread and it was so good! The beef was moist, flavorful, and the dipping sauce wasn't overly salty. I added on a kale caesar side salad which was also very good. My boyfriend ordered the Do Gouda sandwich with the roast beef and sweet onion marmalade on sourdough bread. This sandwich was another winner with the Gouda and red onion together. We stopped in for a late lunch so we were pretty hungry and added on a tomato soup. I am a huge fan of their tomato soup and I have had plenty tomato soups I have really liked at other places! Great first time at this sandwich shop! I'm looking forward to their other sandwiches and more tomato soup!

This is my first time here and I must admit, I love the environment! I love it that they are helping the community by giving back a sandwich for each sandwich's purchase. The price is not bad at all. I've ordered the Pot Roast Sandwich and it is delicious! It comes with sourdough bread, cheese, onion, jalapeño jelly, and savory pot roast beef. It also comes with a side of salad or chips per choice. I would definitely recommend this place. For the cause and for the delicious sandwiches!

Really enjoyed this place. We ended up here after the wait for brunch was too long at Pig & and Jelly Jar. Super hipster vibe, but I appreciate that they are keeping it local when it comes to their ingredients. Also, I like that they are donating food to a great cause. I have been here twice. The first time the guys behind the counter recommended the Undergrad breakfast burrito. Really decent prices for the amount of food you get. I enjoyed the Undergrad, but I was surprised when the 2 eggs inside were actual full cooked eggs, not scrambled. That was a bit of a turnoff for me just because some bites I would just get a mouthful of yolk. The second time I came here I ordered the stuffed french toast. Uh, yes. Seriously, it's delicious. Perfect combition of cinnamon, sweet from the bananas, and sour from the berries. This is the only thing I will eat from now on when I go here. If you are on the fench about this place, don't hesitate to give it a try. It is good.

I'm sorry, but I must retract my original review of 5 stars to 2. I have not had a successful eating experience since the 1st. This makes my 6th. The staff IS friendly but they always get my order wrong. This trip, every item was wrong. No mustard, we got mustard. Hold the bacon, you bet we got double bacon. The sandwiches are good, but each time we visit there is less meat or substance. I'll gladly pay $10 for a hearty sandwich. Their sandwiches are anything but hearty. And even though we were the only patrons in the joint, we waited for 20 mins! For a turkey sandwich that runs through a conveyer belt. Something's off here...

What were you thinking? I showed up with a date and you think it is funny to be rude to me. A front counter person is to greet the customers and make them glad they came to spend their money at your store. You think that your job it is to take your problems out on the customers? You need to find a new job as I will never return there again.

I would eat here every day! Or at one of their other locations! Great fresh, delicious food! Amazing service! Cool design and the cleanest bathrooms in the valley! Did I mention for every sandwich or wrap you buy they donate one to the homeless through local non-profits! You can't best this! Oh and $3 Mimosas on the weekends and unlimited French toast for brunch and they do breakfasts and...

This is just the type of restaurant SLC has needed--a fantastic local sandwich shop with awesome atmosphere. The turkey sandwich (toasted!) was killer. So much flavor!!! Can't wait to try their breakfast. They also serve beer and play fun upbeat music, so it's a perfect meet-up spot. Well done!

Came here for the first time and it was delicious. I had the turkey sandwich (whose actual name I can't recall, all the items have puny names). The veggies tasted fresh and the bread was yummy. Very good sandwich. The portions are large, I got two meals out of my one sandwich. I also tried the cheese dip with chips. The cheese was good and their homemade chips are good as well but they put very greasy meat in the cheese and that was a little heart-burny. Good experience all around and I will definitely go back.

SPRANG CHICKEN. If I could tell you everything I wanted in a sandwich, it would look like that. Side salad with spring mix and cherry tomatoes? Yes, please! Add a cool atmosphere and beer! And we're set for life Thanks for being cool and serving real food from real ingredients! Oh and for being super nice about everthing, always. See you soon!

These sanwiches are bomb, son! Seriously so good. Great atmosphere too. Although I would not recommend trying to lie your ridiculously hungover head on the table. It's not very sturdy, almost tipped right over and gave me the serious spins. Those sanwiches tho.

Breakfast sandwich is the dopest dope. Really digging this spot and I need to come check it out again. The breakfast burrito was good too but the sandwich was better. Also the free cookie was really good.

Really love the undergrad burrito, however this last time I ordered ahead, the burrito wasn't ready when I got there, and then when I did get it and unwrapped it, it was clear that the rush of their morning orders affected the burrito's being sloppily put together. Was missing the sauce, so was kinda bummed. Hopefully, they'll be in a better groove next time.

I've heard about this place a few times and finally made a quick stop by for take-out today. They have a vegan sloppy joe I will go back and try but today I ordered a lunch special with a capreezy. At first I thought it was a little overpriced and the half sandwich was a little small but I ordered it with a yummy (and nice sized) apple walnut salad and it came with a drink, chips, & a pickle. Well worth $10 I'd say. I'll be back soon!

I live a block away from this place and finally visited this past weekend. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and the staff was down to earth. I love that they have beer, and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Plus, they donate a sandwich for every sandwich sold. I went for dinner, and then for Sunday brunch. The live music was fantastic on Sunday. There are, however, a couple things I'd like to advise the business to improve on. 1) The chips suck. No better than regular Lays in my opinion. If you're going to make amazing sandwiches, you might as well use better chips to go with it. Great idea on kettle chips, bad idea on the brand. 2) Unlimited French toast is a grand idea, if it's actually going to be executed correctly. I don't want to re-wait in line for 5 minutes to get more French toast. You should have a member of the staff walk around and consistently replenish desolate plates. And maybe give customers a flag to set on their table so the staff doesn't need to go on a scavenger hunt. 3) The whole coffee area is small and not in the best spot. I was either bumping elbows with a fellow patron, or something was out, or too low to get the portion I wanted. Maybe have the French toast facilitator take care of the coffee too? 4) Most customers don't bus their tables as they should, so you are left to bus it yourself, or wait when it's busy. This may be another job for the coffee baristing french toast facilitator. 5) I totally utilized the free cookie for checking-in on yelp, however, the staff shouldn't have to search through every package to find the cookie I want. Label the packages and it'll save everyone some time. Regardless of these qualms, I'll gladly go back again and again.

Such a wonderful concept and the food truly is so great. I love the turkey day, the tomato soup and the Reuben. The Graduate Breakfast burrito is so on point with perfect eggs. My only gripe is the pace. For a place where you order at the counter, it should not take 20 minutes to get your food. If you go at lunch you can absolutely expect to wait that long. Which sorta blows. But the food is seriously good. Can't wait for the sugarhouse location to open!

Great neighborhood gem. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Turkey dip was very good although little "hot".

    (4)
  • Josh F.

I had the mihami vice sandwich and my fiancé had the Reuben. Both were great! Lots of flavor and a good portion size. I don't like that it's tucked back behind a gas station but it is definitely worth the find. It also has beer!

  • Allison S.

I have had several items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. I love the ambiance of this place...casual setting with stellar food AND adult beverages. I'm not a vegetarian but I've only eaten vegetarian items here. The caprese sandwich is grilled to perfection, the breakfast burrito is one of the best I've ever eaten, and the sloppy Tina is hands down the best and most unique vegetarian sandwich I've ever eaten. It tastes exactly like a meaty sloppy joe.

This is probably one of those rare reviews where I bump the rating up based on other factors rather than the food. Don't get me wrong, the food at Even Stevens is fine, certainly worthy of recommendation. It probably floats around a 3 to 3.5 range. The service, atmosphere and the fact that a part of the proceeds go to charity make this a 4-star affair. We tried several of the sandwich and salad options on our first visit this afternoon. The combo meal, which I think is a fairly decent value, allows for two selections among a half sandwich, a bowl of soup and a small salad, along with a pickle spear, a healthy helping of kettle chips and a fountain drink, all for about $10. I selected the half Reuben and the Caesar salad. Good choice! The reuben is tasty, with moist slices of corned beef, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing, all on a lovely rye. It's got a nice texture and flavor worthy of an average NY deli. The Caesar salad includes greens (no iceberg lettuce!), crunchy croutons and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, along with a quality dressing. My wife had the Gouda roast beef sandwich. The cheese and beef were tasty, but the jelly dressing accompanying the sandwich was too cloying. I'd have a hard time recommending such a sweet sandwich. The roast beef was not very substantially layered, either. Mom had the grilled cheese-jalapeño, which was thick with a molten creamy cheese and some potent jalapeños. It was certainly enjoyable, though probably not for the faint of heart. The restaurant is set up so that customers make their orders at a walk-up counter. The staff are eager to please and are open for menu discussions. Overall we had a pleasant experience in this regard. The atmosphere is charming. With both rustic and modernistic aspects to the overall decor. The restaurant feels both hip and cozy at the same time. Perhaps the greatest aspect to the place is the fact that part of the proceeds go to charitable sandwich-making. What's not to admire about that? It's worth a try.

  • Dave M.

Maybe even 4.5 Nice Concept: A socially responsible shop that donates food to charity every time you eat there! Good Food at a Fair Price: Better Sandwiches / Salads / Soup than you find in many more upscale joints. In fact, we left Even Stevens commenting that the food was better (at a better price) than food we had been served last week at a recently opened brew pub, in a new building, on a corner in Sugar House, that will go nameless. We hope they do well. We will return!

Incredible business idea. Not only do they have creative, delicious food, but they also give back through sandwiches for the homeless. I tried the Do Gouda and the Pot Roast Dip - both were finger-licking good. Can't wait to come back on a Thursday or Friday night for live music. Also, the architecture is cool - reclaimed wood, lights made of bicycle wheels, etc. Really fun ambiance.

Figured we would try it as it was a close walk from our hotel and had great reviews. It is definitely more of a hipster place, although we didn't feel out of place dressed in casual (but more 'conventional' clothes). The menu is fairly simple, which is good for me - everything sounded pretty good. I ordered the breakfast burrito with egg, potatoes, sausage and a couple of awesome sauces. It was very good! If I could change 1 thing it would be scrambled eggs instead (I asked but they can't make them) of fried eggs - with creative eating, I didn't have any bites with all egg white or yolk, although that would happen if you weren't careful. It was really good! My wife had the twice baked potato soup and the 'sloppy joe' which is chorizo. Both were really good and the sandwich had a unique taste. The thinly sliced red onions had been marinated in some sort of vinegar and were quite tasty as well. Very good! Since they are know for their French Toast, we ordered 1 serving. Turns out they have all you can eat French Toast during the buffet. It was very tasty with a hint of cinnamon. I'm guessing the stuffed French Toast would have been even better. The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly, despite the fact that there was a pretty decent crowd. There was also a duet playing and singing songs, which surprisingly added to the atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it!

Cool little shop. I had the MiHAMi Vice... a play on a cuban but with pulled pork and shredded ham. It was pretty darn amazing for a pork sandwich! I will definitely have to go back to try all the other offerings. I will definitely be back.

I love when a place serves breakfast all day. I had the most amazing stuffed french toast. Stuffed with vanilla cream cheese and fresh bananas, topped with a berry compote. The perfect combination of tart and sweet. My boyfriend got a roast beef sandwich which he said was also really good. Service was helpful and quick. I also loved the decor and feel on the inside. I will definitely be coming back!

I have been a big fan of Even Stevens since they opened. This morning I went in to grab a breakfast burrito, and was greeted by a nice gentleman who explained to me they have really been working on improving their menu. He told me I HAD to try their new French toast. I was reluctant because in the past it had been a little dry, and not my favorite menu item. I took a chance and ordered it (along with the breakfast burrito) and let me tell you it was the most delicious perfectly cooked heavenly French toast. Definition of a night and day difference. And my already beloved breakfast burrito if possible, was even better. Oh and the icing on the cake, the new and improved French toast is all you can eat.

  • Gina V.

The atmosphere inside of Even Stevens is fresh and relaxing. They support the local community by providing bicycle parking, selling local artists' work, and promoting local beers. They have more than one vegan menu item. I got the Sloppy Tina ( a vegan sloppy Joe) with jalapenos and avocado. The bun was perfect with only a slight toasting. The filling was delicious and moist, but held together rather than sogging me or the bun. The jalapenos made it all amazing.

  • Brian C.

This isn't Subway or Jimmy John's. They serve better quality sandwiches. With regard to setting, price, and quality, it's a sort of Café Rio for sandwiches minus the Mexican ethnicity. Of course they have the advantage of facilitating the unique benefit of feel good vibes that come with their effort to contribute to the local food bank (1 sandwich donated for each you buy). For that you'll have to expect a smaller meal size. ...not filling, but reasonably satisfying. Oh, and the wait can be "did they forget about me" long sometimes.

Me and bae had breakfast here and it was AMAZING. There was this sauce on the burrito that was clearly the work of the devil because it was sooo good and addicting. I went back from lunch and got the vegetarian sloppy joe and I didn't really care for it. It was nothing to write home about... that's the only way I can think to describe it. But the staff were super friendly, loved the live music on Saturday afternoon, and loved that they try and source all things local and organic/non-GMO.

A sandwich shop with a cause! Every sandwich they sell they donate a nutritious sandwich to a local non profit. I love supporting those who want to support others! The capreezy sandwich was very good with really fresh ingredients and a really tasty pesto. My wife got the pot roast dip with a yummy au jus for dipping. Both sandwiches came on a delicious artisan bread. We also shared the kale Caesar which was amazing! Nestled in a great downtown location with lots of parking and a very friendly staff.

Decent food. Highly pretentious hipster feel. Tables were not wiped off and the live music was so incredibly loud you literally cannot hear yourself think. Food is good though if you like red onions on everything.... which I dont.

I was stoked to try this place. I love the atmosphere, and the beer selection is out of this world. Lovely facilities. Super family friendly. I would love to see more vegan options. One vegan option, a 'sloppy Tina', left a lot to be desired. Pretty much a hot pile of spicy mush on a soggy bun and nothing else. I would love to go back and try the collard wrap. I'd still suggest it to my meat eating friends!

I've eaten here 3 times now and It's been great every time. I had the jalapeño cheese sandwich with was awesome. The combination of cheese and spice of the peppers were perfect together. I also had the ruben which was really flavorful. Just yesterday, we placed a big order for our business. They were a little slow finishing up the order, but hey 20+ sandwiches is a lot :) I love that they give back. Ask them how it works. It's pretty cool. Overall a great place to hangout and eat some good sandwiches. I want to try out their breakfast sandwiches too. They look tasty!

OHMYGOD this place is amazing. Pricing is decent considering they have a social cause. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Oh and they have suggested beer pairings with all their sandwiches, it's on point.

I seriously believe that as long as the pot roast dip from Even Stevens is around, I'll never need a man again! My God, that was one sexy sandwich! Pretty easy to write a short and simple review when the staff was friendly and the sandwich was amazing! AND, I love it when my love for sandwiches is helping to save the world, one succulent morsel at a time!

This is my 2nd visit to Even Stevens and I've gotta say it's top notch. The restaurant is colorful and inviting, the staff is friendly and amazing, and the food is fantastic. Today, I had the Do Gouda sandwich which is roast beef and smoked Gouda. Delicious! I also like that they have beer so you can enjoy a libation in a casual environment. Give it a try because you won't be disappointed.

Breakfast burrito & Stuffed french toast were both great! The burrito was a little small but still filling. We were in & out quickly; it's nice to get a good breakfast without a long wait! Will be back to try the sandwiches!

I love this samich shop! Good cause and delicious food. I feel like it would be much more busy if it was in a better location.

rare to find a vegan breakfast item on menus - had the morrissey breakfast burrito and was very happy - curried tofu, eggplant, potatos and cannelli beans, a great combo with a side a salsa

Excellent new sandwich shop. Sometimes places that have a good cause tend to substitute that cause for really good food. Not happening here. I will be back and recommend this place to everyone hungry for a good sandwich with some interesting combos of fillings. Yes it is a little more expensive then Subways but do a little reality check with yourself and support a local business with an excellent idea to return something to families in need of a little help. Giving a sandwich to a hungry child generates a much better karmic load then buying yourself what ever it is that you spend a couple of bucks on. Went with the Sprang Chicken and was not disappointed. Bread was high quality, all the ingredients were fresh, and everything blended together to make a really good sandwich.

This place is one of our top 5's in SLC. We love the Reuben and the dip. They have an awesome concept too - they donate a sandwich for every sandwich purchased. Awesome atmosphere as well - the buildout looks amazing. Also love the pellet ice in the soda machine.

Like the idea, but could they be any slower. Probably won't be back with so many other options near by.

Have been twice, Really liked the breakfast sandwich. Lunch sandwiches are good as well as was the side salad. Great cause.

The reuben. I know you have to like a reuben, but it's hard to imagine a non-reuben person not being knocked out by this one. It's a little messy, it's perfectly toasted (they asked if I wanted it toasted. Is that weird, would you ever NOT toast a reuben?), it's perfect. The tomato bisque soup, just a little spunky ~ awesome. I shared this meal and considered a "oh, look up there" to sneak more.

The bombest sandwiches in salt lake, just narrowly edged out by Feldmans deli sloppy joe. But this place has a huge range of sandwich types, all really good. Don't sleep on the cookies either, which are fantastic and shipped in from St George.

It's a great idea how they give a sandwich to a "non profit" organization. I would feel more comfortable if they named the actual organization. The sandwiches were VERY small considering paying 10 dollars. I'm all about the idea but I won't eat there again

A good sandwich joint is difficult at best, to find. Like that way awsome place in San Luis obisbo airport, yes I dream of that. Good sandwich places in salt lake, Humm, nothing jumps to mind. This place is the bomb, very very good two days in a row. I really appreciate their use of non disposables, a real live coffee mug, pie tin and plate for serving sandwiches. We'll be back.

Great concept, great food, friendly staff but SLOW service. Waiting 10 minutes in line, then another 10-15 for your food doesn't work well for a 30 minute lunch break. Try the Turkey Day sandwich, it"s my favorite!

A friend and I stopped in today for lunch not even knowing it was their opening day. The service was excellent, prices are fair, portions were just right, and you have to love the cause. I had a combo with a turkey sandwich and a spinach/arugula salad with goat cheese, both were awesome. We'll be back!

Ive been here many times and have had almost everything on the menu. The sandwiches are FANTASTIC and so are the chips. They have the best macaroons I have ever had (and Ive had some damn good macaroons). You really cant go wrong with any of the sandwiches. It is also one of the very few places in Utah you will find a nice beer selection to go with your sandwich, they've even paired the beer with its sister sandwich for you. The only thing I have to complain about is the sunday brunch. I was very excited to have unlimited french toast. However, I found it dry and unflavorful and the syrup was terrible and gave me a stomach ache the rest of the day. I might be a special case since I am used to real maple syrup, like actual boiled sap from the maple tree and not Aunt Jemima's maple flavored corn syrup. But there arent any places in this state that serve that anyway. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito which was very good except it was small for the price. Good cheap mimosas though. Bottom line, go for the awesome sandwiches, macaroons, and nice people.

I recently moved out of the Salt Lake area, but this was one of my favorite places to go almost daily. Everything on the menu is fantastic while giving back to the community. I recommend this to anybody looking for something new and unique.

Absolutely amazing food. Little on the pricey side but very much worth the extra buck! Hopefully more people come her because as of right now it's just me and my girlfriend here.... So get your butt down here to some great food!! Not to mention a good cause a well. You'll just have to come in to find out what that is!

Delicious food, perfect for all, and a great cause! Come here and enjoy a great sandwich or salad! The staff are super friendly and attentive! One of my favorite places to eat in SLC.

Today was the first time I'd been to Even Steven's and I have to say it's one in the best sandwich shops around! I had the Ruben and a taste of the Grilled Cheese and both where great! Some of the reviews here criticize the price and portion to that I ask two questions? 1.How do you expect the mission of this place to happen without a good amount of operating capital? 2. Do we really need an other giant portion in our diet as a population. I was very satisfied with my portion and thought it was grand!

Hot diggety. "I have a dream" that more businesses will adopt their same giving spirit! Godspeed, Even Stevens, with many more locations throughout America (and beyond)...

I wanted to love Even Stevens, but they're just not organized enough to succeed. We've gone twice and the food, while more imaginative than some, is meh for flavor and took FOREVER to for the staff to make. It's not a place to go on your lunch break if you only have an hour. This area of town could use a nice sandwich shop so I hope they can get it together and teach the staff how to work together more efficiently.

Had lunch today with a few friends. I suggested this place, because I heard they were good about taking care of people who are gluten intolerant. I have Celiac disease. I felt totally comfortable eating there. Guy at the counter told me they used separate cutting board and knife- and they use a GF bread from a local bakery. My sandwich and side salad were delicious! The dressing for the salad was particularly great. I liked the ambiance, and though we had to wait a bit- nothing overboard. Only one minor complaint- they offered to toast the bread (yes!), but it wasn't so much toasted as it was just a little warm. I get that it's a pain to deal with GF and keep it separate- and make it toasty delicious, but maybe don't offer toasted GF bread if it doesn't get crispy. Will be back!

Food is delicious and the staff are all great. Would be 5 stars, but the food is a tiny bit pricey for sandwiches, albeit very good sandwiches.

Best sandwiches and salad in town, I've been there almost everyday this week and tried more than half the menu, and every thing has been delicious, amazing atmosphere with really friendly staff. The best thing they have some amazing high point beer that they pair with your meal! Doesn't get any better!

Yummm I'm so glad my friend and I found this spot! The lunch is great ( even though sometimes I wish they would melt the cheese more, but minor stuff ya know?) and now reading this I'm going to have to try the breakfast as well. The people are super friendly and a little quirky which I like. I also love that they are donating food every time I eat there. I will be back and back and back again!!!!

This place is spectacular all around. The employees were friendly, fun, and enthusiastic about making recommendations. I had the jalapeño and cheese sandwich. Oh my goodness. I can't wait to go here for brunch and to try more of their sandwiches. Good people, good food, and a great cause. You'll be so happy you went.

Just had breakfast here. All of our food was fantastic! I highly recommend the stuffed French toast. And the breakfast sandwich. The pace looks like a dive from the outside, but has pretty cool decor on the inside. They're kid friendly, there's a lot of space, they have crayons, and my kids like the food.

First time attendee and boy was I impressed! I had the Capreezy and everything from the crazy fresh mozzarella to the bread was insanely good. My boyfriend had the pot roast dip and said it was just as good as the other sandwiches he has had there. People keep saying it's slow but we went at 11:45 am on a weekday and we received our food in about 5 minutes after we ordered and sat down. I will go back a million times over.

Even Stevens is AMAZING!! The food is awesome, the atmosphere is fun, and the cause is cool. For every sandwich you buy, they will donate one to a local non-profit. My favorite menu items are the do gouda sandwich, and the goat getter salad! Don't forget to get a side of kettle cooked chips with some french onion dip! Also, the macaroons are so good! I could eat here all the time! Go give them a try! You won't be disappointed!

I have only been here once but I am seriously upset us and cannot wait to go back. There were two guys working at the counter when my husband and I came in they were super funny gave great suggestions and really made us feel welcome. We ordered two sandwiches and they were seriously out of this world the bread was amazing, that meat was amazing, the arugula, everything. The Decour of this place is super funky and fun, it makes me feel so happy being in there!! I would come here every day if I could!!!
